COLLAGEN CREDENTIALS?

Founder of Ingenious. Pharmacist by trade, from regional locum to managing Boots flagship store in Oxford.  In 2010 my wife and I bought a small pharmacy in Oxford.  Within a year, we had tripled the turnover and I ended being voted pharmacist of the year.

I carried on growing the pharmacy, becoming recognised in the field which led to requests for me to consult on product development for large pharma companies.

DESCRIBE YOUR OWN WELLBEING PHILOSOPHY

I have always been fascinated by medical science and the body; how it works, what makes it healthy. I have always wanted to help people, which is why I trained to become a pharmacist.

HOW DOES INGENIOUS FIT INTO THAT?

Anytime we hear the from a customer about how Ingenious Beauty has changed their lives, it is always the highlight of my day. Since its launch Ingenious Beauty has won seven industry awards and its success allowed us to expand our management team and our product range launching two more exciting supplements.

Ingenious is, and always will be, my passion. To know that I have been part of creating something that makes a real difference to people’s lives, to how they look and feel, is something I am very proud of.

HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT INGENIOUS?

I founded it, with my friend David Hyland, a consultant who I worked with on product development at large pharma companies. He had begun privately investigating collagen with a view to designing a new type of supplement. After several discussions he invited me to collaborate with him.

WHY ARE YOU SUCH A FAN?

Our company ethos has always been to produce the best possible products with no additives and only proven science. Recently we carried out a huge, double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled clinical trial on Ingenious Beauty. This produced such incredible results we now have the backing of the Professor of Pharmaceutical Innovation at Kings College London.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU TAKEN IT AND WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN?

After some major spinal surgery I began taking the collagen supplement, Ingenious Beauty, that David and I had developed using a unique, patented capsule.

On a follow up appointment my neurosurgeon viewed the x-ray to see how my spine was healing.  He was astounded and insisted on having the pictures retaken.  He said my spinal bone had fused beautifully and that the healing was what he would expect following three months, not six weeks. As collagen is known for its ability to aid healing, I knew the collagen in Ingenious Beauty was responsible for this impressive recovery

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL PEOPLE LOOKING TO TAKE COLLAGEN SUPPLEMENTS?

Start early, prevention is always better than cure.  From the age of 25, our levels are reducing on average at the rate of 1.5% per year.  You also want a product that has been independently clinically proven, this is extremely rare as most manufacturers use their active ingredient supplier data which may not give the same result once it has been formulated.

If you want a collagen supplement that will actually be absorbed, you must ensure it is protected, this stops it being digested by the stomach.  We at Ingenious are the only company that have patented this process and can therefore ensure precise and consistent dosing, no other collagen product can claim this.

WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU ENCOURAGED TO TAKE INGENOIUS, AND WHY?

Funnily enough, it was my wife who recommended Ingenious.  We were on holiday last week and a lady commented on how great my wife’s skin looked.  She then asked her what she used and so on.  My wife mentioned Ingenious and explained I was the Co-Founder, she then had a multitude of questions which I answered and she ended up placing an order by the pool!

WHAT’S YOUR BEST WELLBEING TIP?

This one is easy, please eat healthy, exercise every day and reduce the processed food.  This includes walking and also strength training.  As we age, our muscle mass reduces and resistance training is a great way to help reduce this.
